NEW REPORT FINDS GAP BETWEEN "REAL WORLD" AND ONLINE SHOPPING PATTERNS
Flit.com Report Offers Tips to Take Proven Physical Behaviors Online
SAN FRANCISCO - June 24, 2010 - The team behind Flit.com, the first-of-its-kind online shopping tool that mimics the way people shop in the "real world" today released a report that identifies how consumers' online shopping behavior deviates from their physical shopping approach and offers tips to improve online shopping savvy based on that research.
The report, "Guide to Online Shopping: Lessons from the Real World" which can be downloaded below, is based on observational research, interviews and traffic patterns gathered during the creation of Flit.com and since its December 2009 launch. Findings illustrate that although physical shopping patterns overwhelmingly break down into the same four steps - prepare, browse, compare, purchase - these steps tend to be compromised while online shopping due to the way we approach web-based tasks.

FLIT.COM BECOMES HOME BASE FOR ONLINE SHOPPING
New 'Tag It' feature lets shoppers 'flit' between items they discover on different sites
SAN FRANCISCO - Mar. 4, 2010 - Since launching just three months ago, Flit.com, the first-of-its-kind online shopping tool that mimics the way people
shop naturally – by visiting their favorite stores, much like they would in a mall – has changed the way retailers and shoppers interact online.
Site upgrades that further streamline the shopping experience, combined with powerful word-of-mouth, have driven substantial site traffic growth and have made
the site a home base for a growing number of dedicated 'Flitters.'
For shoppers, Flit.com cuts navigation and search time by up to 80 percent, by doing in two simple clicks what otherwise requires remembering URLs and retyping
search terms. According to the overwhelming feedback the Flit team has received from shoppers, retailers and industry analysts, this dramatic but simple difference
has put the fun back in online shopping by making the experience more comfortable and easy.
Since launch:
- 'Tag It': This new feature lets shoppers capture any item in any store they come across while flitting and save it easily into their search trail. It replaces clunky
alternatives like printing pages or battling with bookmarks. Items saved while flitting are marked by blue shopping bags below each store so they can be viewed and
compared later. As always, busy shoppers can email a search trail link to themselves or friends to easily return to their shopping session later - or to get a second opinion.
- More categories: New apparel categories include designer and haute fashion, petites, swimwear, men's formal attire, and sporting-wear including yoga & pilates, while
broader merchandise categories include everything from scrapbooking to skiing to cellphones. Flit.com provides a carefully selected range of stores in each of these
categories that specialize in the segment and provide quality shopping experiences across a range of price points.
- More Stores: Flit.com has expanded to cover over 400 retail sites based on suggestions and recommendations from shoppers while new sites are added daily.
- Love from retailers: Retailers have enthusiastically embraced the Flit.com model, as it leads shoppers through their thoughtfully designed brand experience, showcasing
each site's customized product selections, images, and category knowledge.
- Save time, save clicks: The Flit.com team has observed many interesting click-through patterns, notably that time saved and ease of use have encouraged shoppers to
explore a wider range of stores than they did previously.

FLIT.COM GIVES ONLINE SHOPPING A MAKEOVER
Simple New Tool Makes Shopping on the Web an Easier and More Fun Experience
SAN FRANCISCO – Dec. 3, 2009 – Despite the great appeal of online shopping, finding the perfect holiday gift on the Web can still be a frustrating experience, particularly when struggling to recall the URLs of favorite stores and then entering the same search term again and again on different sites. Now, with the launch of Flit.com, shoppers can visit one site to initiate a search for a desired item – from clothing to toys to electronics – in all of their favorite stores.
Flit.com is the first-of-its kind shopping tool that emulates the way people shop naturally – by visiting their favorite stores. Unlike other search or comparison shopping engines that produce product listings from various vendors, Flit.com shoppers spend time inside different retailers' sites, retaining the personality and customized search capabilities of each store. The site's single-click search platform allows users to access more than 275 leading retail brands spanning 30–plus popular categories including fashion, home goods, jewelry, electronics, sports and gourmet foods. The Flit.com team adds stores daily based on user requests.
As shoppers 'flit' easily from store-to-store, a search trail maintains a visual track of the stores they've looked in and lets them return directly to purchase. Shoppers can even save a lunchtime shopping session in order to continue their search later at home. Because results are not filtered through a search engine listing, shoppers experience all the richness and detail that comes from today's quality online stores.
What Shoppers Are Saying
"I love the site! The first time I used it I found a great pair of pumps and a new top. I even found the perfect gift for my mother to get me for the Holidays!"
"Being able to save my shopping search at any time, and come back to it later, is great and easy – it's the natural way I shop."
